The Lonely Chair (Still-Life Watercolor Painting).
E N D
The Lonely Chair (Still-Life Watercolor Painting) I chose a picture of a chair to paint for this project. I chose it because I liked the way it looked with the shadows and the shudders be hide it. The subject matter of the painting is chair and how it looks to be alone. The content of the painting is to show how the chair looks sad, even though chair’s do not have feelings. When I look at the painting I feel like I can relate to it. One of the techniques I used was the rubber cement for the parts the were the lightest so it would stand out. I used many different kinds of brushes and different methods of strokes. Two elements that I used were line and value. The part were you can most tell were line is in the shudders that is be hind the chair. For value it is every part of the painting to the highlights in the red cushion, to the different values of colors in the chair to see the curves it has.The two principles that I used were balance, and emphasis. I tried to balance the painting so your eye can flow when looking at it, but at the same time I try to put emphasis to the red cushion so it would be the first thing you would see and keep looking back at. Over all I feel pretty proud of myself for doing a good job with the watercolors.
