  2. Research • The most academically successful schools are typically those where students feel respected by their teachers • Noam, G.G. & Flore, N. (2004)

  3. So what are my beliefs? • Think of your favorite teacher from elementary, middle or high school.

  4. We know: • We teach the students values. • The moral education comes from our behaviors, not our words. • Character is like measles. It can only be caught by close contact with someone who has it.

  5. A School Mission and Vision… It is why we are here and what we ultimately strive to become! Needs to drive decisions. Needs to be known by all. Needs to be revisited and, if needed, modified

Professional Learning Community • Educators committed to working collaboratively in ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. (DuFour, DuFour, Eaker, & Many, 2006). “The greatest untapped resource in the field of education is the knowledge possessed by teachers.”

School Quality Review • Cambridge Education hired by Fulton County • Provide insights into what is working well as well suggestions for improvement • 2 day visit • October 18/19 • Team of three • Will observe classes, analyze data, meet with teacher, students and parents • Receive a report within 20 days • Still need parent volunteers
