Plot Summary This is a story about a poor fisherman,Kino, who found a pearl of the world. He believes the precious pearl is their family’s future, his baby’s ticket to health and education. But dream is always far from the reality. The pearl brings misfortune ……. http://www.mystudios.com
Theme and Major Character Analysis Kino – Since he had found the pearl, he tried to make his family’s dream come to by all ways. Juana – she thought the pearl brought misfortune, and admonish Kino giving it up. Juan Tomas – Kino’s brother. Always helped Kino whenever he got the pearl or got into trouble. The doctor –a rapacious miser.

Conclusion …… Wealth brings evil and desire: Humans are never satisfied,when they get one thing and they want something more.But undue ambition and desire often leads to fail. When Kino gets the pearl, “all of the neighbors hope that sudden wealth would not turn Kino’s head“ , but the truth is that he really changes to another person; in order to achieve his goal, he becomes a killer.
