The purpose of this Pre-Proposal Meeting and is to familiarize interested Vendors with RFTA’s Solicitation #12-050 On Call Snow Removal and Sanding Services. PROJECT INTRODUCTION • RFTA Operations & Facilities Management • 365 days per year; 24 hours each day. • RFTA Service • RFTA operates bus service along the 40-mile Highway 82 corridor from Glenwood Springs to Aspen and the 27-mile Interstate 70 corridor from Glenwood Springs to Rifle. • RFTA is contracted to provide local service to the City of Aspen and the City of Glenwood for local circulator service year round, as well as, the Aspen Skiing Company for skier shuttle service in the winter.
12-050 SCOPE OF WORK RFTA’s Snow Removal and Sanding Services Overview • Snow removal will take place at various bus stops from Mountain Valley in Aspen to the West Glenwood Park & Ride. • This is a shared responsibility by RFTA Staff and the awarded Contractor. • Service usually commences in mid November and ends sometime in late April or May. • It should be noted that this service is imperative to the safety of the public and bus service.
12-050 SCOPE OF WORK RFTA’s Snow Removal and Sanding Services Overview (cont’d) The Scope of Work has been divided: • Up Valley work consists of Rubey Park, RFTA Park & Ride lots, and various bus stops from Brush Creek & Highway 82 (Intercept Lot) to Mountain Valley. • Down Valley work consists of ONLY the Park & Ride lots from Old Snowmass Conoco to West Glenwood Park & Ride. • There will be no required snow removal at the bus stops along Highway 82.
12-050 SCOPE OF WORK RFTA’s Snow Removal and Sanding Services Overview (cont’d) It is RFTA’s intention to contract with one vendor for these services. Notice to Proceed for On-Call Snow Removal Services will be issued in early November 2012. RFTA will complete the construction of the VelociRFTA Bus Rapid Transit system in Fall of 2013. This may add additional stops and/or expanded stop and park & rides. A contract amendment will be generated at that time, if necessary.
12-050 ON-CALL SNOW REMOVAL & SANDING SERVICESMINIMUM EXPECTATIONS Must maintain minimum insurance requirements MUST complete and fax/email a Daily Log for services provided Must be in Good Standing with CO Secretary of State and must not be listed on the Federal Excluded Parties List. • Must be able to respond 24/hours; 7 days/week • Must have a minimum of 2 years verifiable experience • Must be able to complete initial call-out by not later than 5:00 A.M. • Must have appropriate levels of staff and equipment to properly perform the job.
