Advance Preparation • Wrong focus!!! • Try to give much information to the audience as you can. • Try to win the applaud of the audience. • And itturns out… • The complexity of the information is unnecessary!!! The audience couldn’t remember all the details!!!
Advance Preparation • Only 2 to 3 key points are needed! Key points function as reminder.
The IMAGE of a PublicSpeaker Tina 曾沛琳
MYTH: • To be a successful public speaker, you have to imitate somebody else who is extremely perfect. • Although you try so hard to please all your audience, they still criticize your performance very badly.
TRUTH: • Just be yourself. Your audience knows who you are, they do not expect 100% perfection, and they will understand the mistakes you make. • Your audience wants you to succeed, and humility and humor will definitely do you a favor.
DISAGREEMENTS: You can enjoy throwing yourself in front of a group without knowing specifically what you’re going to say. → the presentation will totally be a disaster. All Your audience truly wants you to succeed. → Some feel like tricks out of expectation.
