  2. Albert Einstein - one of the most important physicists of the 20th century. • Albert Einstein was born on 14 March 1879 in the German city of Ulm in the Jewish family.

  3. He learned mathematics and loved to use it in thinking about science. • He studied physics in Switzerland where he got his first job. • In 1914 Einstein moved to Germany. He got a teaching job at the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences.

  4. In 1921 he got the Nobel Prize in physics in connection with the formulation of the theory of relativity. He became very famous, almost like a movie star.

  5. Einstein's life was in danger and that was why he and his wife moved to the United States.
