Read 110Book Presentation By Dr. Linda Nolte
Touching Spirit Bear • by Ben Mikaelsen Other Works: • Red Midnight • Rescue Josh McGuire • Winner of the International Reading Association Award http://www.lausd.net/Reed_MS/Library/book_tlk/spiritbear.jpg

Book Passage • “If you kill my cat, normally the police fine you and that’s it. We still hate each other, I still feel bad about my cat, and you’re angry because you have to pay a fine. In Circle Justice, you sign a healing contract. You might agree to help me pick out a new kitten and care for it as part of the sentencing” (10-11).
I liked the book because • I learned about Circle Justice and healing. • The story has as good metaphors and similes [“life is like a hot dog”] (137). • The story would make a good movie. • I found the story educational and easy to read.
