  2. Choose a community • We must choose a community that is related to tornadoes (since we already identified our problem) • Our team’s community can be a city, village, town, township, county or district

Identify a problem • We have already identified our problem: Tornadoes • A tornado is a violent column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground • A few types of tornadoes are, land spouts, multiple vortex, waterspouts, gustnados, dust devils, fire whirls, steam devils, stovepipes, rope and wedge tornadoes

  5. A storm chaser getting out of his car to take a quick video of the tornado.

  6. Most tornadoes form from thunderstorms • You need warm, moist air and cool, dry air to make a tornado

  7. How a tornado forms.

  8. Innovative solution(s) Brian’s idea:a hydraulic system that will lower the house under the ground making the roof at ground level.

  9. Shyavan’s idea: a humming bird like drone that fly's into a tornado and scans its wind speed pressure, etc. and then lower the house system (Brian’s idea).

  10. Shreeram’s idea:a sensor that will be put in the spiraling tornado by launching it off a rescue helicopter.

  11. Nazariy’s idea:safe shelter indicator in case of a tornado warning some people might need to get directions to a safe shelter we could create a map including all the shelters in the area. they would also be available to download in all the phones or devices

  12. Tharun’s idea:a device will be placed on each building in the city. The device will detect the tornado is near, if the device detects a tornado it will send a message to another device using Near-Field-Communication (NFC) Once the other device detects the message the alarm will go off and alert the people.
