#5 Solicit Tell-Backs and Show-Mes • ENL students struggle with verbal comprehension due to biological reasons (not lack of effort) • Ask: • Tell me what you’re supposed to do. • Show me what you’re supposed to do. Why does this strategy work? • Confusion is eliminated • Memory is enhanced • Metacognition is increased • Frustration is eliminated
