Service Dogs Service dogs are dogs that help blind people. Not everyone has a service dog. Also there are service dogs that help people in a wheelchair. Service dogs can be trained to pick up things, turn on and off light switches ( if the dog is tall enough), and keep the person safe.
Rescue Dogs • Rescue dogs rescue people. They rescue people in fires, avalanches, rock slides, and people lost in a forest. For example, if a child got lost in the woods a rescue dog and it’s owner might come help find the child.
Labs • Lab are often service dogs. There are many kids of labs : yellow lab, golden lab, and black lab. They love to fetch things. Also, lots of labs are easy to train.
Chihuahuas • Chihuahuas are the smallest dog breed in the world. They are so small that people carry the in their pockets and purses! The breed was originally was born in Mexico. Their coat is either short and smooth, or long and glossy.
Beagles • If you are wanting a smart, loyal, dog, then the beagle is the one for you. Beagles are loyal, great with children, and very smart. They are always ready for an adventure. Their famous owner is Lyndon B. Johnson. They love a big yard with lots of space.
Miniature Dachshunds Miniature Dachshunds are very small when they are born. They have very delicate backs. To keep them from breaking you have to support their bottom. You need to train them when they are a puppy. I have a miniature dachshund named Mitzi, and she is so cute!
Collies • Collies are a very smart and intelligent. They are often used as sheepdogs. They have a long, glossy coat. It can be chocolate brown, and many other colors. They are also often in dog shows and many other shows.
