  1. The AmeriFlux network was established in 1996. The network provides continuous observations of ecosystem level exchanges of CO2, water, energy and momentum spanning diurnal, synoptic, seasonal, and interannual time scales and is currently composed of ~140 sites from North America, Central America, and South America. CDIAC serves as the permanent data archive for AmeriFlux. CDIAC developed the AmeriFlux Site and Data Exploration System to permit users to obtain AmeriFlux site information and to access existing data products or customize their own. • Queries can be built based on a single or a combination of: • - site name and status (active/inactive) • variables measured • geographical location (country, state, elevation, lat, lon) • primary investigator name • measurement status • types of available data products (flux/met L2-4, bio data) • time span • IGBP vegetation type • instruments used AmeriFlux Site and Data Exploration Systemhttp://ameriflux.ornl.govCDIAC (Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 2011Misha Krassovski, Tom Boden, Bai Yang, Barbara Jackson • Query • Query /user statistics L2 - Half-hourly or hourly flux and meteorological data after standardized quality checks and application of CDIAC naming, unit and formatting conventions Global DB MS SQL database • - site info and links to standardized data sets • list of sites selected according to the query and links to corresponding data products • options to create customized multi-site datasets for L2 data (L2st, L3, L4 and bio coming soon) • QA/QC • Response Site met/flux and biological data • Future expansions: • AmeriFlux L3, L4 and biological data access • FACE experiment • SPRUCE experiment • NGEE experiment • Leaf ACi analysis • visualization capabilities • enhanced query capabilities (e.g., sorting data via day and night) L1- Half-hourly or hourly flux and meteorological data provided by the site investigators
