How to change Encryption on a DHP-306AV Connect an Ethernet cable from the computer to one node of the power line device. Open the D-Link Powerline AV Utility and click the Scan button Once the device has been detected, click the Security Tab right after the Main Tab.
Put a tick on the Box which has the name of the first node. On the box for the encryption, highlight the default password and change it with your desired password. Then click the Set Selected Devices button to save the settings. A pop up window will appear. Just click the Ok button.
Another prompt will appear showing that the password has been successfully changed. Just click the Ok button. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the first node and put it on the second node. On the D-Link Powerline AV Utility Click the Main Tab and click the scan button.
Once the second node has been detected, click the Security Tab right after the Main Tab. Put a tick on the Box which has the name of the second node. On the box for the encryption, highlight the default password and type in the same encryption that you have put on the first node. Then click the Set Selected Devices to save the settings.
A pop up window will appear. Just click the Ok button. Another prompt will appear showing that the password has been successfully changed. Just click the Ok button. Click the Main Tab and click the Scan button.
How to change the Device Password on a DHP-306AV Open the D-Link Powerline AV Utility and click the Security Tab. On the security tab window, Double click the Box before the name of the remote node.
The Set Device Password dialog box should appear, highlight the current password and put the Device Password which can be found on the Remote node and click Ok Button.
What will happen if the Device Password is incorrect Open the D-Link Powerline AV Utility and click the Security Tab. On the security tab window, change the encryption key on the encryption key box and click the Set Select Devices button (Not putting the correct Device password).
A dialog box will appear, Just click the Ok Button. Another prompt will open Saying that the Device password is incorrect. Just click the Ok Button. To correct the device password, first, check the device password on the remote node. Double click the remote node on the Security tab window of the Powerline Utility.
Type the correct Device Password which can be found on the remote node and click the Ok button. Change the encryption and click the Set Selected Devices button
A pop up window will appear. Just click the Ok button. Another prompt will appear showing that the password has been successfully changed. Just click the Ok button.

Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari. On the address bar of the web browser type in there the IP Address of the DHP-W306AV and then press the Enter key on your keyboard. After typing the IP Address of the camera on the address bar of the browser, a username and a password will appear. In default settings the username is “admin” and then leave the password field blank, then click on Login button
Click on the Setup tab on top and then click on the Wireless Setup on the Left Hand Side. The Wireless Configuration page will appear. Make sure that the Enable Wireless is ticked. Change the network name to a different name or you can leave it with the default name.
Under the Wireless Security Mode. Choose the Security Mode by clicking the drop down menu and select which security you want for your network. For WPA. Create a wireless security or passphrase or the so called password for the wireless network and put it on the Pre Shared Key Box. For WEP. Create a wireless security or the so called password for the wireless network and put it on the WEP Key 1 Box.
Once you’re done with the settings, scroll up on the page and click the Save Settings button. The window will count down. Once done, just click the Back button.
