Vocabulary • Symbol – an object or thing that represents something else • Optimism- hopefulness and confidence about the future • Tranquility – the state of being calm • Flamboyant – a person or behavior that attracts attention because of their energy, confidence, and stylishness • Vigor – physical energy or good health to put a lot of effort or energy into a task or activity
Color based game • Put your name on your bingo paper • Walk around and have people sign their initials on your bingo card if they have something in that color on that square. • For example: A square says has a brown pet (dog or cat). Find someone in the class that has a brown dog or cat and ask them to sign their initial in that spot on your paper.
Purpose of the game… • Think about the color you signed for the most. • First think of them in groups: • Did you sign for a lot of bright colors (red, orange, yellow)? • Did you sign for a lot of darker colors (green, blue, purple)? • From there pick a color that you signed for the most. • Pick one: red, orange, yellow, green, blue (& turquoise), purple, black, white, pink
Now get in a group • Now form a group with others who signed for a specific color the most. • Only 3 people MAX!! • You should be in groups based on one color only. • For example: All the people who signed for red on the bingo game the most should be in a group. No more than 3 people.
Presentationtell me the following: • What does your color symbolize. • What personality traits you have in common as a group. • How does the color blue symbolize and express your personalities.
Show what you know! • Tell me 3 things that you have learned about color that you didn’t know before. • I want 3 complete sentences, correct grammar, and correct punctuation. • Absolutely no incomplete sentences and must be longer than 5 words!
Planner check • After I’ve checked your planner: • Put away the bingo game. • Turn in your paper for your group presentation. • (Make sure you put all your names on it!) • Turn in your 3 sentences about what you learned new today. • Have a great day!
