The Cleansing of Naaman2 Kings 5 • Naaman told his master the king of Syria v.4 • The king (Ben-Hadad) sent Naamanwith a letter to the king of Israel (Jehoram) asking him to heal Naaman of his leprosy (and a large gift for services rendered) v.5 • FaithlessJehoramassumed Ben-Hada was trying to start a war by asking something impossible “Am I God?” v.7 • Jehoram was so upset that he tore his clothes • That would be big news v.8
The Cleansing of Naaman2 Kings 5 • Elisha the prophet heard about it v.8 • He sent a message to Jehoram“Please let him come to me and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.” Elisha delegated his work • Naaman went to Elisha’s house v.9 • Elisha sent a messenger (servant) to tell him what to do v.10 • "Go and wash in the Jordanseven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean."

Do something for me • Then he suggested substitute rivers • God’s plan did not make sense 1 Cor. 1:18-31
