What do you want to do when you grow up? • Some 70-year-olds still struggle with this question, but you are expected to start thinking about an answer at 14. If you have a driving passion for something, you might already know the answer. If that’s you, congratulations. If, instead, you’re like most people, then you don’t know for sure what you want to do. The truth is the opposite: a good background in any of these subjects can open doors in any sector and lead you to interesting and unexpected work.
Making Decisions • Your decisions are more complicated than those of past generations. • First the world you will work in will change rapidly because of the internet and the digital revolution, which has always been part of your life but barely existed when you were born.
Second, the nature of employment itself is changing. Your career will include multiple employers and jobs, and you will always need to keep learning new skills.
