  2. Understand Barbiturates are a kind of drug that belongs to the sedative-hypnotic class. They cause feelings of decreased anxiety and induce sleep. In street lingo they are called downers, yellow jackets and red jackets. The physical and psychological dependence potential of barbiturates is very high, taking them for as little as one month is enough to cause significant changes in brain chemistry.

  3. Side Effect Barbiturates carry with them a high risk of addiction. Besides this it has been linked to a good number of deaths. The dosage required for users varies wildly from one person to the next. While one milligram may be a standard high inducing dose for one user, it could be toxic to another user. This is the main reason why barbiturate use is considered extremely dangerous and that why recommended for drug rehab.
