  4. University Teaching Loads • Varies by University, College, and Department • Most are built on a 12 hour norm per term • 6 – 9 hours teaching plus scholarship and service

Workload across Ohio’s Community Colleges • Total days faculty required to be on campus: • Quarter – avg 172.4 • Semester – avg 177.4 • Days faculty required to teach: • Quarter – avg 165.5 • Semester – avg 158.9 • Faculty workload (contact hours) • Quarter – avg 45.2 • Semester – avg 29.6 All semester data based upon 8 colleges (23 total)
