  3. Why did people want Federation? • To become one nation. • To be ruled by one Government. • To stop having double taxes. • To stop the colonies and states arguing. • To have one army force instead of many.

  5. When did it happen? • 1st of January 1901-1st January 1911. • 7 people represented each colony. • Edmund Barton (Australia's first prime minister) and Henry Parkes (First in charge)- The 2 main leaders.

  6. Royal Exhibition Building • This is the Royal Exhibition Building-Melbourne. • This is the inside of it.

  7. What happened after Federation? • We got stronger. • Ruled by one Government. • One army force. • No more double taxes. • There was no more conflict. • We became one nation.
