Establishment of Japan IHE Association • Background • The issue of medical care is covered specifically in the Priority Policy Program 2006 which was submitted based on the New IT Reform Strategy by IT Strategic Headquarters in the Cabinet Office, and the concept of IHE is deeply involved with medical care systems in many points. • The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare also expect further development and expansion of activities of IHE. • The activities have been performed with voluntary efforts by user organizations and vendor organization, but it is important to set up a socially recognized organization to continue the activities toward significant development in the future.
