The History of Soda Blasting • The soda-blasting process was developed in the late 1980s by a group of New York City engineers who were given the task of restoring the Statue of Liberty. • The two primary concerns from the onset of the project were the impact on the environment and not damaging the soft copper plating on the statue. They met these concerns by developing the soda-blasting process, using sodium bi-carbonate (baking soda) as the blast media. • The success of the Statue of Liberty restoration brought a lot of attention to the soda-blasting process, and soon, many commercial enterprises were discovering new applications for the process.
Our Philosophy Our growing World Wide Network aims to: • Reduce cleaning and restoration costs • Reduce or eliminate harmful chemicals • Improve environmental foot print • Significantly reduce hazards to workers • Improve corporate recognition through branding • Assist businesses to diversify their services
Advantages of AM Soda System • NON TOXIC • NON HAZARDOUS • NON FLAMMABLE • NON CORROSIVE • NON SPARKING • ODOURLESS • NO VOC • BIODEGRADABLE • SILICA FREE • MOISTURE RESISTANT • NON HARM TO EYE OR SKIN • pH LEVEL IS 8.4MAX • WATER SOLUBLE (after blasting) • ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY • 100% FOOD GRADE (Hallal Certified)
Why Soda is safe compare with other media? Mohs Hardness Scale In the Mohs scale, ten common minerals are arranged in order of increasing hardness and assigned numbers: talc Soda (2.5) calcite, Kieserite (magnesium sulfate) (3.5) fluorite, Plastic Media (4), Corn cob (4.5) apatite orthoclase ( feldspar) Silica Sand, Glass , Quartz CRYSTAL GRIT Garnet 8) topaz corundum diamond Soda is effective on most surfaces and will not damage the original surface condition unlike other conventional blasting media
