About Paul Gauguin • Paul was born on June 7th, 1848, and his death was on May 8th, 1903. He died at the age of 54. • He suffered from mental and physical illness. • Paul was depressed from the complicated treatment for syphilis, which led him to attempt suicide in 1898 by swallowing arsenic.
About Paul Gauguin • Gauguin’s work fell under the Post-Impressionist artistic movement, and later started becoming a leader in the Symbolist movement. • His art explored the underlying structure of forms along with the elements of art and principles of design. • Paul didn’t commit to his art until he was 35 in 1888.
