1. International Financial System (IFS) Money Order [Electronic International Money Order- eIMO]

2. IFS MO • Operated through IFS software of UPU • Al POs authorised to book & pay eMO can book & pay IFS MO • Two types of IFS MO • Urgent Money order- Payable at any PO identified for IFS MO transaction irrespective of payees address • Normal Money order- Specifically payable at payees address

3. IFS MO • Inward Limit • Maximum -USD 2500 per remittance • 30 remittances to single recipient for an year • Payment above 50000/- through cheque • To be paid within validity period of 45 days

4. Booking of IFS MO • Purpose of remittance to be entered in TFP-2 • Currently outward remittances are not operationalised

5. The Electronic International Money Order Service, • Amalgamation of two IT systems viz. • International Financial System (IFS) software of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). • eMO of India Post. • Both Inward & Outward remittances . • Currently only inward remittance is enabled • IFS MO will ride on the existing eMO network. • Service available in 18,000 Post Offices across India. • All eMO Delivery Post Offices can pay IFS Money Orders. • All eMO Post Office can Book IFS Money Orders. • Presently Service not available in BOs & Non Computerized POs.

Types of inbound MOs Urgent : • Payable in any eMO Offices irrespective of Payee’s address. • Payee shall approach POs with Transaction details, copy of valid ID proof & Address proof. • Timeline : 2 calendar days from the receipt in India. • Validity : 30 calendar days. Normal : • Payable at Payee’s address as normal eMOs. • “Post Restante” facility is also available. • Timeline : 5 calendar days from the receipt in India. • Validity : 45 calendar days.

7. Payment of Normal IFS MO • Paid by the destination PO based on the pin code • Procedure as prescribed for eMO to be followed • Payment is made on production of ID proof & photocopy is preserved • Payment up to Rs. 20000/ effected at the doorstep of the payee through Postman module • Above 20000/-, intimation sent through postman, payment at Post office only

8. Payment of Urgent IFS MO • Payee to visit any eMO office and submit ID proof, IFS MO number, Name of remitter etc., • eMO PA prints IFS MO by entering the details • Procedure for window payment of eMO to be followed • The paid voucher preserved in the office of payment
