An Exciting Event A first of its kind event in the music and internet worlds was held at Carnegie Hall in New York City on April 15th, 2009. It was the premier of the YouTube Symphony; a symphony made up of people from all over the world who had uploaded audition videos to YouTube. Any one with the ability to play a musical instrument and the desire to play classical music in a symphony was invited to apply. The response was overwhelming as was the concert. You will be looking at some of the videos and going to Web sites to learn about the musicians, the composer and the director who worked so hard to make this all happen.

The Composer: Tan Duna world famous composer from China. He has composed some works that you may all be familiar with. When you go to the resources on Delicious make sure that you listen to some of the selections that are there for you.
The Director • The Director of the UTSO is Michael Tilson Thomas. • Tilson Thomas is currently the director of the San Francisco Symphony. • He was able to shape the selected musicians into a cohesive group in just a few days.
