  2. Generally live in marine environment, but can be found virtually everywhere • Some can also be found by hydrothermal vents Habitat

  3. Uses gills to filter in dissolved oxygen • Gills in direct contact with water Respiratory System

  4. Reproduces by using water as a medium to deliver sperm to the female • Then the female siphons the sperm and fertilizes her eggs Reproduction

  5. Sends oxygen straight from the heart into the spaces in the tissue, known as hemocoel Circulatory System

  6. Have an interior shell, mainly chitin and conchliolin, protein • Have 5 pairs of appendages Skeleton and Appendages

  7. They have segmentation because they have specific parts of the body that has specific functions. • Three main part of a molluscan body: foot, visceral mass and a mantle Segmentation

  8. Varies but the most advanced is the squid which is about as intelligent as a domestic cat Cephalization

  9. Coelom is a fluid filled cavity that develops with the mesoderm • They possess a coelom that functions as a hydrostatic skeleton Coelom

  10. They have a two ended digestive tract with mouth and anus • Releases wastes into the water Digestive Tract

  11. They have bilateral symmetry Symmetry

  12. Mollusca are triploblastic so they have 3 germ layers • The three layers consist of ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm Germ Layer
