GeneralInformation The Lithuanian Road Administration Tasks, Functions, Aims • TASKS • To implement the state policy regarding the road maintenance and development formulated by the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. • To implement the programs on road maintenance and development drafted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. • To organize the development, modernization and functioning of the network of the roads of state significance. • FUNCTIONSThe Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications is an institution established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania; it organizes and coordinates the restoration, maintenance and development of the roads of state significance. • AIMS • To satisfy the needs of the society and road users. • To work in an economic and efficient manner by creating proper traffic conditions, so that transport on the roads of state significance is safe, fast, convenient and environment-friendly. • To develop roads and their network. • The top priority is to ensure traffic safety.
