  3. Solar system • The distance from the sun in A.U is 1.52 • The distance in kilometers is 228 million • The length of one Martian day is 24 hours and 37 minutes this is the order of mars from the sun which is 4th

  4. Planet measurements • Mass: 0.11 km • Volume: 1.6 x 100,000,000,000 km • Equatorial circumference: 21,344 km • Mean density: 3,933 km • Gravity: 38% the gravity of earth • If you weighed 100 lbs on earth you would weigh 38 lbs on mars

  5. Mars’s Composition and Atmosphere • The composition of Mars‘s core is made of iron, nickel and sulfur • The surface of Mars is deformed and cratered • The atmosphere of Mars is 95.3% carbon, 2.7 % nitrogen and 1.6% argon • This is a picture of Mars’ surface.

  6. Surface conditions • The atmosphere of Mars is coldest at high altitudes, from about 40 to 78 miles above the surface • The sun heats the atmosphere more at low latitudes than at high latitudes.

  7. Moons • Mars has two moons around it • Deimos and phobos are their names Phobos is the one on the lest and Deimos is on the right

  8. Phobos In Greek mythology mars is the god of war so since mars was named after him Mars's moons were named after his sons, phobos and deimos. Phobos means fear in Greek Deimos means terror
