Who can participate? • Select a class or advertise • This is on a volunteer bases • Students that submitting a completed application

How does adopt-a-shelf works? • Students request desired shelves, but Tibrarianassigns shelves • shelves will be labeled with student’s name or an assigned number (or name) • Students will maintain shelves for a designated period of time
“Adopt-A-Shelf” requirements: 1. all books are pulled near the edge of the shelf (lined up evenly) 2. All the correct books are on the shelf
“Adopt-a-shelf” requirements: • Keep shelves neat… all books standing tall • all spine labels are at the bottom – facing 0utward
“adopt-a-shelf” requirements: 4. Keep books in Alphabetical order by first three letters of author’s last name (return other books to the shelving cart)
“Adopt-a-shelf” Requirements: 5. Group same authors together 6. Series books in sequence order
“Adopt-a-shelf” requirements: • Check the “re-shelving” cart for books that belong on assigned shelf.

Optional: - If shelf space is available, display recommended books or decorations
“Adopt-a-shelf” R u l e s: • Shelves may only be maintained before/after school or during Library Enrichment • StudentsMaintain their shelves and their shelvesonly! 3. do not purposely mess-up someone else’s shelves ( he/she will lose shelves and any acquired “book Bucks” )
