Activity 2.2: Collection and processing of current and historical data (3/3) according to the DOW document • Process data for sea level monitoring and mapping sea bed morphometry: • … maps • Process data for monitoring marine quality and ecosystem parameters: • Time series analysis (if available in test sites) • maps • Chl-a (from MERIS or MODIS), TSM (from MERIS), SST (from MODIS)
Workflow AUTh BEC DDNI OBIBSS Collection of Project Data (tables, grids, shapefiles) Design & Development of Geodatabase
Technical Specifications • Microsoft SQL-Server • Efficient • Minimum downtime • Single-file database • ESRI ArcGIS Server v10 – ArcSDE • Allows data re-projection • Easy import of Shapefiles • Easy import of tables (XLS) • ArcMap is used to define how the data will appear on the web-GIS • ArcGIS Server exposes data using REST Services, which are easy to consume
Geodatabase Capabilities • Update Capabilities • Our database supports the update of existing tables in terms of data but not structure • Web Capabilities • Our database may queried over the internet using the ArcGIS Server REST Services • Processing and search capabilities • Our database supports search and query capabilities, but remote users will not have the capability of adding new data or altering/deleting existing data
