COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Assisting rural communities to create prosperity so they are self-sustaining, repopulating and economically thriving. These projects meet RC&D elements of Land Management and Community Development, utilizing healthy plant and animal communities on America’s working farm and ranch lands. RESOURCE CONSERVATION These projects meet RC&D elements of Land Conservation, Land and Water Management to conserve and create healthy plant and animal communities and ensure a clean and abundant water supply. Ensuring our national forests and private working lands are conserved, restored, made more resilient to climate change while enhancing water resources. JOB CREATION & RETENTION Developing new approaches that lead to expanding business operations and job markets in rural communities. These projects meet RC&D elements of Community Development to stimulate job creation and business retention in rural communities. RC&D RESOURCE CONSERVATION & DEVELOPMENT Partnerships Serving America’s Communities
Nationwide,the approximately 4,500 RC&D natural resource and community development related projects completed annually help create, expand, retain and financially assist approximately 6,000 -7,000 businesses. In addition, these projects help create and retain approximately 11,000 - 12,000 jobs in their communities. RC&D councils work with local communities to develop and expand economic opportunities from our nation’s natural resources. These councils are actively engaged and involved in meeting America’s need for renewable energy.
