Rat and Mole Wind in the Willows The Elementary Science Study (ESS) adapted the idea of messing about in boats to express the spirit of fun in science. “…whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else…….. “Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats”.
