  1. Webquest: Softball Throwing Mechanics By: Kristen Chevalier

  2. Throwing Steps… • Introduction… • Funnel to bellybutton • Step into goal posts • Cobra head • Swing arm • Opposite arm to chest • Follow through

  3. Task • Partner up, numbering off by 2’s • 10 feet away from partner, throw the softball back and forth using proper throwing mechanics • Count how many consecutive successful catches are achieved

  4. Activity • Form lines of 4 students, 10 feet from target upon instruction • 5 attempts to hit target with softball • Go through line 3 times • Team with the most hit targets wins!

  5. Excel Activity • Homework: As a team, add up how many successful target hits and attempts that were taken. • Make a data table and graph on an Excel Worksheet as a group effort, using the information recorded on the data table.

  6. Review • Review the 6 steps for proper throwing technique… • Demonstrate as a class the proper way to throw a softball.
