Light is significant in all the major religions of the world. In this presentation I will look at its significance to Christians, Muslims and Hindus.
In Christianity In Christianity God is portrayed as light. Christians are also said to be the light of the world. They are encouraged to let their light shine by loving everyone regardless of gender , race or age.
In Islam Muslims see light as a symbol of knowledge and faith. The Holy Qur'an describes God as the "Light of the heavens and earth."
In Hinduism The largest festival celebrated in Hinduism is called Deepawali, or more commonly known as Diwali. Diwali is know as the festival of lights.
The festival of lights is celebrated by the lighting of many candles or lamps. Here are some examples of how people celebrate the festival of lights.
