  17. Cost of using Appliances • To figure the cost of an appliance you have to consider not only the purchase price but the cost of using it as well.

  18. Figuring Costs • Take the average KWH ( kilowatt hour ) used per year and multiply it by the local kwh rate ( for our area it is .0875¢ )

  19. Example: Electric blanket Average KWH used per year 147 Multiply by 8.75¢ 147 x 8.75 = 1286.25¢ or $12.86 per year
