What We Learnt 5 • The importance of group and collaborative learning and partnerships. • Top-down model - teacher imparts wisdom to students vs. teacher and students learning together. • Evaluation - continuous assessment of the project. • Risk-assessment. • Post-university?
What We Learnt 6 • It’s not a script! Lesson Plans. • Knowledge (facts, figures etc.) vs. self-motivation, engagement, interest and application. • Post-university - primary education? • Opportunity - probably wouldn’t have done this otherwise.
The Project and Our Degree 7 • BA Language and Literature in Education. • Modules - ‘Informal Contexts of Education’ ‘Alternative Forms of Education’. • From course handbook: “Encourage students to reflect critically on the aims and values of education in society”.
