  1. The Environmental Fund for Pennsylvania (EFP) inspires positive change by funding environmental stewardship programs, publicizing stories of people who care for the environment, and giving the public ways to get involved.

  2. Founded in 1991, the non-profit EFP was formed to support environmental organizations with funding through workplace giving campaigns throughout Pennsylvania. In 1997, EFP started using video communications tools to tell the stories of people touched by these organizations, and encourage others to do the same.

  3. Today, EFP is a renowned multi-media communications and support organization, with programs that create positive environmental change through television, video, Internet, print, and community action. Our programs reach people of all ages and walks of life, with the message that we can protect our health and quality of life by protecting our water, air, and land.

Reaches 3.5 million homes • Airs on 81 cable stations, PBS stations and others around Pennsylvania • Is distributed to schools, libraries, environmental organizations, nature centers and County Conservation Districts • Focuses on positive environmental stories that presented in shorter show sections keeping viewers interested

  6. GreenWorks.tv is an online network that brings environmental issues and their solutions to millions of people. Through streaming videos, audio files, and a network of links to take users further, GreenWorks.tv shows the ways people are working to preserve and protect the environment. GreenWorks.tv is an essential link that moves us from concern, to knowledge, to action, to real change.

  8. The GreenWorks Media Resource Center (GWMRC) provides the environmental and conservation community with well-informed, affordable communications tools for publicity, fundraising, and more. For many groups, GWMRC videos and Internet sites are the first ones they’ve ever had!

  9. Do you know how to make your own environmentally friendly cleaners or start your own compost pile? Check out the GreenWorks Gazette to learn how! The colorful gazette, full of household tips, information and resources, appeared in 4.2 million papers in spring 2000 and brought in rave reviews. Look for the next issue soon!

  10. EFP also sponsors Watershed Weekly, the world’s first weekly watershed web cast. As an independent non-profit organization, EFP is uniquely suited to inform the public about a variety of environmental topics and programs, without supporting lobbying, litigation or any political view. Funded by foundations, the state of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection, corporate partners and Pennsylvania cable stations, EFP marries cutting edge technology with community environmental action, to create media that touch people and help them make a difference.
