  4. Act 1 Scene 2In this scene… • Ferdinand is following the sound of Ariel’s music. • He meets Miranda – they fall in love at first sight. • Prospero wants to test Ferdinand’s commitment and makes him his slave. • He tells Ferdinand he is enslaving him because he might be a spy.

  5. Find the line that shows: • Ferdinand is confused about where the music is coming from. • Miranda thinks Ferdinand is a spirit. • Prospero tells Miranda he is a living person. • Miranda says Ferdinand looks divine • Miranda says this is only the third man she has ever seen. • Ferdinand says he’ll make her Queen if she is available. • Prospero says Ferdinand is a spy. • Prospero puts a spell on Ferdinand (stage dir.) • Miranda begs Prospero to release him. • Ferdinand says he would go to prison to spend time with Miranda.

  6. Act 4 Scene 1In this scene… • As the play nears its end, Prospero is happy that Ferdinand has proved himself. • He gives permission for Ferdinand and Miranda to marry. • Prospero turns his attention to punishing Caliban.
