Divisibility 3,6 and 9. Divisibility Rule for 3. A number is divisible by 3 , if sum of its digits comes in 3 tables For example:- Take the number 697 The digits are 6 , 9 , 7 Sum of the digits = 6 + 9 + 7 = 22 22 does not come in 3 tables ∴ 697 is not divisible by 3. Divisibility 3 rule.

  2. Divisibility Rule for 3 A number is divisible by 3 , if sum of its digits comes in 3 tables For example:-Take the number 697 The digits are 6 , 9 , 7 Sum of the digits = 6 + 9 + 7 = 22 22 does not come in 3 tables ∴ 697 is not divisible by 3

Divisibility 3 rule 235 The sum of digits 2+3+5 = 10. 10 does not come in 3 tables. ∴ 235 is not divisible by 3 579 The sum of digits 5+7+9 = 21. 21 comes in 3 tables. ∴ 579 is divisible by 3 486 The sum of digits 4+8+6 = 18. 18 comes in 3 tables. ∴ 486 is divisible by 3 751 The sum of digits 7+5+1 = 13. 13 does not come in 3 tables ∴ 751 is not divisible by 3 924 The sum of digits 9+2+4 = 15. 15 comes in 3 tables. ∴ 924 is divisible by 3 628 The sum of digits 6+2+8 = 16. 16 does not come in 3 tables ∴ 628 is not divisible by 3

  4. Divisibility Rule for 9 A number is divisible by 9 , if sum of its digits comes in 9 tables For example:-Take the number 351 The digits are 3 , 5 , 1 Sum of the digits = 3 + 5 + 1 = 9 9 come in 9 tables ∴ 351 is divisible by 9

Divisibility 9 rule 345 The sum of digits 3+4+5 = 12. 12 does not come in 9 tables. ∴ 345 is not divisible by 9 720 The sum of digits 7+2+0 = 9. 9 comes in 9 tables. ∴ 720 is divisible by 9 428 The sum of digits 4+2+8 = 14. 14 does not come in 9 tables. ∴ 428 is not divisible by 9 816 The sum of digits 8+1+6 = 15. 15 does not come in 9 tables. ∴ 816 is not divisible by 9 972 The sum of digits 9+7+2 = 18. 18 comes in 9 tables. ∴ 972 is divisible by 9 593 The sum of digits 5+9+3 = 17. 17 does not come in 9 tables. ∴ 593 is not divisible by 9

Divisibility Rule for 6 Step1:- Check if the number divisible by 2 using divisibility rule 2 Step2:- Check if the number divisible by 3 using divisibility rule 3 If answer is yes for step 1 and step 2 is ‘yes’ then number is divisible by 6 For example 695 Step 1:- One’s place does not have digits 0,2,4,6,8. Hence 695 is not divisible by 2. Step 2:- The sum of digits is 6 + 9 + 5 =20. 20 does not come in 3 table. ∴ 695 is not divisible by 3. ∴ 695 is not divisible by 6
