Who are we? • National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Uganda • Is a Public Corporation - 100% Government • Established in 1972 with a mandate to provide water and sewerage services in Urban Areas on commercial & financially viable basis • Currently serves in 66 towns • 3.4 million people served • 2,263 staff with 26% female

The NWSC External Services Unit What the ESU does • Share knowledge and expertise with the external market by utilizing in-house capabilities and expertise thus enhancing South-South as well as North-South Cooperation. • Creation of synergies within utility providers that are result in an uplift of performance thereby providing the basis for sustainable operations in the long-term.

Opportunities • The NWSC as an operator has the knowledge, experience and skill to assist utilities in the south deal with the challenges they face. • The NWSC has tested and tried solutions that have worked and can be easily be scaled up. • There is urgent demand in the region. • For real success to be registered interventions in utilities must be coupled with investments.
Opportunities…/2 • Dynamic business environment and rapidly changing technologies mean that NWSC and ESU have to keep pace otherwise become irrelevant hence the need for further enhancement of NWSC’s own capacities.
