  21. Background • Founded in 1945 • Based out of Mumbai, India • Largest Indian car manufacturer • One of the fastest growing automotive manufacturers

  22. Who They Own • Jaguar Land Rover • Bought from Ford in 2008 • Daewoo • A Korean truck manufacturer • Hispano • Spanish bus manufacturer

  24. $2000 Car • They are known for producing the cheapest car on the market. • Called the Tata Nano • Gets about 60 mpg • Top speed 65 mph

  26. Other Facts • Has military contract • Plans on investing 6 Billion into military technology • Joint venture with Fiat • 50/50 split. Tata wanted to learn about diesel engines, and Fiat gets to sell its cars in India. • Bought Jaguar Land Rover in 2008 when car manufacturers were hurting.
