Magnets Separate the ferrous metals e.g. tin cans.
Eddy current separators These separate the non-ferrous metalse.g. aluminium cans.
Ballistic separators Throw material up and forward over screens to sort material into light and heavy material also cleaning it of dust and dirt.
Trommels A rotating cylinder separates material by size.
Air knives A directed blast or flow of air that is used to separate light materials from heavier particles as they move along a conveyor or that have been blown into a column. It operates just like a hair drier.
