2 Timothy 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 All scripture is inspired by God and isuseful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
But As For You . . . Timothy has observed Paul’s teachings (vs. 10 & 11). They are in contrast to teachings that blow about (vs. 12 & 13). The Transitional But – “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and believed.”
The Tire They have Learned or Know . . . Sacred Writing from Childhood = Old Testament Scriptures Not only have they learned, but they have believed in them, they are truly assured of them.
The Road Proficient = Competent, Completed, Completely Furnished Equipped = Well Fitted, Thoroughly Equipped
Where the Rubber Meets the Road Continue in Knowledge & Beliefs Instructions for Salvation Faith in Christ Scripture is Useful Proficient & Equipped for Good Work
Life is a HighwayVerse 17 is the result, it is where the rubber meets the road. This is when perfection is exemplified in thelife, service, & good works of the believer.
