Who are we ? (1) • Eight Institutions in Europe from Six countries • Co-ordinator : IUT A Lille 1 (France) • Myself : François CUDEL (Lille) Lecturer in Economics and Business administration.

ETAP AIMS • Creating and using accounting case studies and materials dedicated to European students at the bachelor level. • Implementing the European (International) dimension of accounting in each partner institution • Creating and developing a network system between partner institutions.
The network was “created” in May 1996 in Brussels. The network breakthrough was our first European module IEPA (1998 - 2000) IEPA : Interactive European Professional Accountancy Contents : 8 basics case studies with comparison between several European Accounting System Taught since 1997 ETAP HISTORY (1)
Our second European module : ETAP (2001 -2003) European Taxation and Accounting in Practice Consolidation case studies : one simple, one more complicated between a parent and a subsidiary from two different European countries 4 European lectures about consolidation Taught since 2001 ETAP HISTORY (2)
ETAP NETWORK ACTIVITIES • One annual working meeting (2 days) for professors. • One videoconference between students/professors • One European Accountancy Week (6 days) • A Website • Case studies, lectures creation and updating
Participants : Professors from each partner institution. Duration 2 days : Friday and Saturday Next meeting : Kortrijk (Belgium) : Friday 3rd - Saturday 4th October 2003 Objectives : Project preparation for submitting, current project planning. University year activities for the network planning. ETAP network professors team building ANNUAL WORKING MEETING
45 minutes video conference between students and professors involved in ETAP network for the current year 3rd ETAP video conference has taken place on Tuesday 4th February 2003 with participation of Joensuu, Turku, Brussels, Kortrijk, St Petersburg and Lille. 4th expected Tuesday 3rd February 2004. VIDEO CONFERENCE
4th European accountancy week as taken place in Piraeus (Greece) : Monday 17th - Sunday 23rd March. 31 students and 12 professors from 6 European countries Case studies workshops about consolidation 5 lectures about consolidation and taxation. Cultural activities 5th European accountancy week : Joensuu March 2004 EUROPEAN ACCOUNTANCY WEEK

OUR EXPECTATIONS • We are looking for new partners in Europe. • To successfully participating to the network, it’s very important to attend the working meeting. • Especially, we need to reinforce our network with an English or Irish partner and with a German partner.
