  3. For Instance! • “HOLLYWOOD” is used as a METONYM for the US FILM INDUSTRY • This is because the fame, culture, and location of Hollywood are all related to the US Film Industry

  4. Create Your Own List of Metonyms • On your sheet of notes, generate a list of 10 metonyms with their associated meanings. • For example: • 1-Hollywood=US Film Industry • 2-Washington=US government • 3-Dish=An entire plate of food • Keep going!
