Campus Living Database • Brian Boodoosingh • Jessica Bornes (Business Expert) • Stephen Maloney • Christopher Reape
Background • 6,000 residents • Dorm buildings (singles, doubles, suites, etc) • Apartments • All dorm buildings have RAs. All apartments have CAs
What the Residential Management System (RMS) is Supposed to Do • Check In/ Check Out information • Incident Documentation • Follow-Up Reports for Hall Directors to see • List of residents involved in incidents
What’s the Problem? • Currently, all entries are done on the system, which often crashes due to information overload • To be safe, all RAs and CAs are required to keep records in paper just in case such an instance were to occur • This defeats the purpose of even having the system that is in place entirely
Solution • We concluded that an entirely new system is necessary, one that will run effectively and efficiently • Will allow RAs and CAs to input resident information, keep track of incidents • Will allow Hall Director to keep track of the severity of incidents, and consequences that should be administered for misbehavior
Business Value Added • Faster and more reliable checking in of residents, as well as tracking of incidents • Environmentally friendly- Elimination of paper copies will reduce costs • No Crashing!! • Easy transition between reports allows for more efficient maneuverability and elimination of redundant data
