Condoms Helps protect against pregnancy, HIV infection, and most STIs 98% effective if used correctly Free at SHACS (2 per day) Many brands available for 25¢ at the SHIC in Main lobby Available for 25¢ or 50¢ at campus condom machines Latex-free condoms are available at SHIC or off-campus
Dental Dams Helps to protect against HIV and STIs associated with oral or anal sex To use: hold the dam over your partner’s vulva or anus Often used with lubricants Free at SHACS (2 per day) A variety of low-cost dental dams are available at the SHIC
Plan B Emergency contraceptive taken to reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancy resulting from failure of contraceptive method or unprotected sex Should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex Available without a prescription (if over age 17) On campus, can only be dispensed to the person wishing to use Plan B Must take a pregnancy test at SHACS before they will dispense Plan B. Available at SHACS for $20 Available off-campus for $40-50

Scenarios A person on your floor brings another student back to their room, both people are extremely drunk and you see them walking past your room. Someone comes to you worried about their roommate (not sexually experienced), who is considering losing their virginity. On a Friday night, a person on your floor has a condom break during sex and is very freaked out. On your floor, one person regularly takes most of the condoms you have out.
