St. Patrick’s Day celebrates annually on March 17 in honor of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Due to the Legend, Saint Patrick brought Christianity to the Irish Island and banished all the snakes by chasing them into the sea. As many modern holidays, it originally had a religious background; though St.Patrick has never been formally canonized by a Pope, various Christian churches declare that he is a Saint in Heaven. Nowadays St. Patrick’s Day Evolved into a variety of festivals all over the world celebrating Irish culture with parades, music, dancing, food and a whole lot of green.
