Major accomplishments for 2008: • Issuance by the Supreme Court of Administrative Matter No. 99-10-05 as a means of addressing industry’s concern on indiscriminate issuance of TROs • Introduced legislation on Free Patent which will boost the banking sector through the prospect of having more borrowers with more secured collateral • Played a key role in the passage of the CISA

Major accomplishments for 2008: • Extension of the exemption of micro and small-enterprise loans from the required submission of ITR/AFS to year 2011 • Introduced a provision in the MSME law which requires from the BSP an incentive program to encourage lending to MSMEs beyond the mandatory credit allocation • Reduction to one (from two) of AMLC ID requirement

Major accomplishments for 2008: • Longer period for submission by banks to AMLC of Covered and Suspicious Transaction Reports • Grant of BSP authority to issue Foreign L/Cs (for qualified TBs) • Liberalization of BSP Rediscounting Guidelines (deletion of JSS requirement) • Deletion of proposed increased assessment on banks in PDIC bill
