Lit Circles Final Project • To culminate your lit circle experience, you will complete a project as a group that you will share with the class on Tuesday, March 13th. • In this project you will use bits a pieces of each of the lit circle jobs. You will not use just one person’s submissions, but use as many as possible to get a bigger picture of the novel.
Part 1: The Bulletin Board • The first part of your project will be you group’s bulletin board. This must be presented on some sort of cardboard or foam board, and must be pleasing to view. (Think about regular classroom bulletin boards: if they look boring, you will not look at it!) • You must have the following information on your bulletin board: • Character analysis (including representative symbols) • Brief timeline of the novel • Figurative language or other important passages • Significant lines (and the purpose of their significance) • Major settings • Any illustrations that will help the rest of the class further understand your novel
Part 2: The Spark Notes • In addition to your bulletin board, your group will organize the information into spark notes that your classmates can read to get an idea of what the novel was about. • You must have the following information in your spark notes: • Plot overview • Chapter summaries • Major characters • Major themes and symbols • Discussion questions
