  2. 這篇〈飲水思源〉是藍蔭鼎在一次奇遇後的真理發現，他《畫我故鄉》中有一幅水車小屋與小品，就記述這次的奇遇。這篇〈飲水思源〉是藍蔭鼎在一次奇遇後的真理發現，他《畫我故鄉》中有一幅水車小屋與小品，就記述這次的奇遇。 • 他說：『從東海岸南澳山下來，天色已黑，不及歸途，遂入溪流畔之水車小屋，借宿一夜。小屋主人乃一對白髮老夫妻，將我這不速之客從頭看到足端，又問明理由，終於答應我住。外面正在燒金紙，還有不少祭品，老伯講 今天是農曆的十五，要拜水車神。而水車神尚未食飽，老伯就急急將祭品挪下， 叫老妻準備請客之用。明月初上，瞧見桌上有酒，有魚又有肉，在山間算是豐盛 之大宴。水車是利用水利來擣米，老夫妻靠著收一點擣米錢來維持生活。聽說老伯並無後代，夫妻倆簡素度餘生，和祥而無欲，令人欽佩。清晨於百鳥和鳴中醒起，水車『伊呀』轉，清驪滾滾流，叩頭答謝一夜之招待，祈盼此對老夫妻和氣 長存，與山並壽。』
