  2. Hera • Greek Name— Hera • Roman Name— Juno • Parents— Kronos and Rhea • Sphere of Influence— Queen of the gods, goddess of women and marriage, goddess of sky and starry heavens • Attribute— the diadem, veil, sceptre, and peacock • Birthplace— Island of Crete along with her other siblings • Favorite Places– Argos, Sparta, and Mycenae

  3. Hera (cont.) This statue of Hera’s head shows her femininity and she is with the diadem, which, is one of her attributes. Also, she looks majestic in her queenly ways. I decided to use this photo in my presentation because I liked how the sculpture was able to form her face and the waves in her hair. However, I don’t like how her eyes are empty and look zombie-like. Regardless of the eyes, I like the rest of the statue. The statue depicts Hera’s head with the diadem, made in the 5th century located in MuseoChiaramonti.

  4. Hera (cont.) This sculpture of Hera, like the other one, shows Hera’s womanly qualities as her movements and her clothes seem to flow like her actions. Also, she is the cupbearer of Zeus to Zeus, hence the golden cup in her left hand. I think this is my second favorite of all the pictures I’ve seen of the gods. Why? Once again, the detail on the statue is amazing. The way the sculpture was able to carve the flowing parts of her clothes, I think, is truly skilled. Additionally, I like the room that the statue is placed in. It’s quite pretty.
